What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup, PMU for short, is a cosmetic technique that uses tattoos as a means of producing designs that resembles makeup. Also, these tattoos use a special pigment designed for sensitive skin like the face and special tools that are less traumatic than normal tattoos. Permanent makeup is also called permanent cosmetics, micro-pigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing.
All "no shows" will be charged 100% of the reserved service price.
If there is any questions or concerns please contact me or refer to the "Information" tab and look at the Appointment Policy Form.
Is Permanent Makeup actually permanent?
No, PMU is not actually permanent. This is why receiving your touch ups is so important! Most of the services will last between 3-5 years before they start fading. For this reason, it is recommended that you get a touch up every few years to keep the makeup look fresh.
How long does the procedure take?
Each PMU procedure have different completion time but on average they take 2-3 hours.
Am I a good candidate?
There are a variety of reasons you may not be a good candidate for Permanent Cosmetics. It is important to note I am not a medical professional, so if you have any questions on whether or not your medication or medical condition interferes with you getting Permanent Cosmetics, it is best to discuss that with your doctor before moving forward. Your doctor will need to write you a note to receive PMU if you have any of the following conditions in the list ( the list can be located under the tab, client forms; "NEED TO KNOW INFO". If that is the case, you must let your artist know when booking and bring the original note to your appointment where we will keep it in your file.
How often do I need a touch-up/perfecting service?
To keep your Permanent Cosmetic results looking fresh, we recommend a touch up every year. However, it’s all up to personal preference: some people with oilier skin or other conditions that impact the retention of the pigments may choose to touch up every 6 months. A touch up or perfecting service after 24 months is considered a new procedure.
What should I expect going into my appointment?
All Permanent Cosmetics have a different procedure process.
Here is the general agenda that you can expect for your appointment.
If given permission, before photos will be taken.
Pre-Numbing will sit for 30 minutes - during this time we will discuss color options.
For brows, I will then map & draw the brow design in pencil so you get an idea of shape and form. Please note that nobody’s face is totally symmetrical and you need to be realistic with your expectations. There is no point in trying to make the eyebrows identical or match a photo of your favorite celebrities’ eyebrows if your face shape looks nothing like theirs.
For lips and eyeliner, the pre-draw will be drawn.
Once we have agreed on a final shape (ultimately it is your decision – but I will always voice my opinion on what I think suits you aesthetically) I will clean the hairs outside of the outline, then check back in with our agreed upon color and start the implantation of pigment.
Shortly after that, the first pass is made and continual numbing is applied.
The pigment is then deposited fully to finish up the procedure.
Afterwards, the artist will clean up your Permanent Cosmetics, take after pictures, go over aftercare with you as well as schedule you for your perfecting session, then check you out.
